True Champions (…whatever the weather)

The month of May was a mixed bag on the weather front, wasn’t it? And unfortunately, the sun didn’t quite manage to put its hat on for Burghfield U15s ‘Dads vs. Lads’ football match on 17th May. But that didn’t matter because the Dads donned their football kits instead!

A few Dads had reportedly been teetering on the edge of taking a rain check on this game (any excuse!) but, as the lads recent league-topping success proves, when you’ve got as much drive, passion and commitment as this lot you can achieve anything (even in the face of a great British downpour).

Adam Green, Burghfield U15s coach commented: “This was a terrific family friendly evening enjoyed by all. The lads have done themselves proud this season and we can hardly contain how chuffed Bill, Ian and I are with all of them.”

A very special mention goes to Connor, winner of the CTS Most Improved Player Award.

Connor joined Burghfield U15s at the beginning of this season without ever really having taken part in football in a competitive capacity. As the season has drawn on, he has grown immensely as a player, demonstrating extremely strong defence skills.

Connor never misses a training session and bring a positive attitude to every match. Well done, Connor! We can’t wait to see what he and the rest of the team can offer next season.

CTS will continue to support the lads next season as they move to U16s.
