We are currently recruiting for a Logistics Operative (Escort Driver) to join our team.

To provide a professional and safe vehicle escorting service in support of the AWE Logistics operation across all AWE/CTS sites, to and from multiple locations. Duties will expand as operation develops to include assisting with ad hoc duties within the Logistics team such as delivery/collection of air handling, bioassay and calibration items and with the delivery and collection of on/off site post and post room duties.

Location – based at Customer Sites A & B and CTS sites.

Reports to Senior Delivery Coordinator.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Escorts all scheduled delivery vehicles from search bays, coordinating the routing and ensuring the safe ingress and egress of vehicles to and from multiple locations on Customer sites A and B.
Under the instruction (including routing) of Roads and Grounds, escort abnormal loads to and from multiple locations on Customer sites A and B.
Secure handover of delivery vehicle to appropriate Site contact.
Maintains radio contact at all times with Delivery Coordinators using customer radio communication system
Reports any accident or incident concerning the escorted vehicle to Delivery Coordinators escalating to appropriate services where necessary
Undertakes other journeys as requested to effect the collection and delivery of bioassay samples, air handling samples, calibration equipment and ad-hoc items to and from AWE sites.

Safety Responsibilities

Carry out the above activities in a way such as to maintain, as far as is reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare of all personnel and to safeguard the condition of the environment as required by the customer.
Safe and secure vehicle operation:

Daily DfT vehicle defect checks, including visual checks of light bars.
Loading/securing of freight on vehicle
Vehicle cleanliness
Security of vehicle and load (adherence to Vehicle Panic Alarm procedure)
Associated paperwork

Diligently adhere to all CTS & customer health and safety policies/procedures.

General

Adhere to all CTS and customer security policies, procedures and protocols
Adhere to all CTS quality policies and procedures
At all times actively support the Company values, aims, objectives, policies and procedures
Undertake any other duties as may be required by Management commensurate with the responsibilities of the job or the requirements of the business to ensure a professional and polite service delivery when communicating with suppliers/customers.
