We have an exciting new opportunity for a Supporting Warehouse Manager to join the company, working as a ‘hands on’ integral part of the warehouse team but with additional responsibility for monitoring & adjusting freight flow/processes to ensure all client SLAs/company KPIs, security protocols and aviation security compliance are adhered to.

Purpose:

  • To provide accurate and timely financial information to the business
  • To maintain accurate records of financial data
  • To monitor and enforce all financial controls across the business

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To develop and maintain a thorough knowledge & understanding of the full OSSC operation in addition to the technical, legal/compliance & customer requirements (NXCT, PAS 97, Cargo Operative Screener, Forklift (C/balance and Reach, DG Awareness, WMS, OSSC Operating Procedures) 

  • Monitoring the daily throughput of consignments and allocating appropriate resources to the various workstations around the warehouse to ensure that all consignments are processed (to or from storage) and loaded on to the CTS trunk vehicle to meet scheduled delivery time slots to client’s site 
  • Allocating appropriate resources to workstations to ensure air freight consignments are processed compliantly to aviation security requirements for Global. 
  • Allocating appropriate resources to workstations to ensure consignments are processed in to and out of secure storage for Road Transport 
  • Ensuring that all operational procedures are adhered to and compliant with agreed client SLAs and CTS quality standards 
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, tidy and professional warehouse environment in line with KPIs set by Logistics Manager
  • Control of opening and closing hours to see freight in and out 
  • Daily reporting, troubleshooting client queries/issues, training & monitoring of warehouse staff in various warehouse processes (off site scanning process for client, aviation security process for Global, secure storage process for Road Transport), follow up to operational incidents/events (feedback, documented 1 to 1s/performance discussions with staff, corrective training etc.), keeping equipment operating by enforcing correct operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, facilitating repairs & preventative maintenance, maintaining the security integrity of the warehouse 
  • Deputising for Warehouse Manager in his absence. 
  • Assisting Warehouse Manager with Court Farm warehousing 
  • To ensure compliance with all storage reporting and logs. 
  • Produce daily reports for the client. 
  • Monitor the 3rd party collection process and flag any issues with the client. 
  • To ensure all items entering the warehouse are scrutinised before acceptance to ensure the required standards are met. 
  • To build internal relationships with other departments within the business and work together to achieve company goals 

General:

Essential

  • Experienced in warehouse operation – goods in/out, forklift operations, meeting daily/weekly/monthly KPIs/targets 
  • General knowledge of H&S legislation and good practice

  • Innovative ideas with the determination to work with management to facilitate change, drive efficiencies and performance improvement
  • The ability to engage with and motivate the team to deliver consistently high results; very importantly you must be able to show that you can balance being a part of the OSSC team but standing apart when required to enforce difficult/unpopular decisions 
  • Excellent communication skills: the ability to impart clear instructions to team members, listen to and act appropriately on feedback from your team, liaise with the client, suppliers, maintenance providers, CTS management etc.

  • Forklift (Reach/Counterbalance) certification

Hours

8½ hour rotating shifts Monday to Friday (with half an hour for lunch unpaid) to cover the opening hours of the OSSC (0500-1900), as follows:

Management Accountant

Purpose:

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Preparation & presentation of accurate, timely and user friendly financial and commercial information and provision of detailed analyses to aid business planning: monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register, flash reports (weekly/monthly), dash boards
  • Assist financial controller in the preparation of annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting
  • Financial management of customer contracts including financial performance analysis and liaison with these customers.
  • Customer analysis including pricing tools such as Ready Reckoner
  • Reviewing and developing companywide financial controls and procedures in line with best practice

We have immediate vacancies for LGV C+E security drivers to expand our crew in the Reading area. We’re looking for adaptable and flexible individuals who like variety, for regular driving work. You will be transporting specialist cargoes including dangerous goods and other high consequence goods and work will be varied, taking you to unusual destinations around the UK and into Europe.

Driving for CTS is about delivering excellent customer satisfaction and you will need to be an individual with integrity, who takes pride in their work, shows meticulous attention to detail and has a positive ‘can do’ attitude.  You must be well presented with good geographical knowledge. Experience with high security/high value, multi-drop, double manned and international driving would be an advantage and holding an ADR qualification is beneficial although not essential as training will be provided for the right candidates.

Hours:

What will my working week look like?

  • It will vary (up to legal limits under Domestic/EU Drivers Hours/Domestic rules including rest periods) however our aim is to achieve as close to an average of 50 hours per week in a 26 week reference period
  • It will include weekend and night working on rotating patterns that will be agreed in advance. A 10% uplift in pat will apply to any night work carried out between midnight and 0459am
  • It will involve early starts, late finishes and nights away from base

Hours:

As a casual worker, your working hours will vary dependant on the work available and your availability to undertake it.  Assignments may include weekdays, overnight stays, weekends, early starts, late finishes, sometimes at short notice although at other times we will be able to offer work with in advance of 2 weeks’ notice.

Logistics Operatives

£23.5k rising to £25k pa

We have exciting opportunities to join our growing team in a highly varied role. You will need to be extremely adaptable and willing to undertake work across our entire operation including warehousing, transporting high consequence dangerous goods by road either single manned or as part of a double manned team and providing logistics services including office moves on a local client’s site. Initially you will be trained in our warehouse and scanning centre operation whilst security vetting checks are completed. Once the necessary clearances are in place, you will be cross trained on the other parts of the operation. You must be willing to work across multiple sites all within the local vicinity.

Daily Tasks include: 

  • Goods in/goods out – managing deliveries to unit, receiving goods in, checking freight against booking in criteria, picking and packing, preparing manifests and sorting freight.

Hours:

The core warehouse operational hours are 0500 to 1900hrs. On our client’s site, the shift hours will be 0745-1700hrs. We are looking for applicants with flexibility to adjust their hours in line with changing business needs, to provide resilience across varying shifts & to be available for overtime which may include weekends (on a 1 in 4 rota).
