Corporate Communication & Quality Manager

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring our high levels of quality and service are evident throughout all of our communications.

The role will be based at our main office at Easter Park, Silchester, Reading, although there may be occasions when you will be required to attend other CTS locations in the course of your duties.

Purpose:

  • To regulate and coordinate uniformity and high quality communications across the business.
  • To lead on tender and bid responses
  • To maintain all formal commercial contracts (customer and supplier) and project manage / provide high quality administrative support on customer contract negotiations
  • To manage and drive the continuous improvement of quality standards that will lead to  business improvement
  • To maintain the Company’s Quality Management Systems and assure Company-wide, consistent best practice through the validation of process and the control of documentation.
  • To provide other high level administration within the business

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Corporate Communications / Office Management

  • Champion high standards of verbal and written communications both internally, company-wide, and externally with customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure consistency and high standards in content and quality of all internal company collateral including (but not limited to) company manuals, flash cards/aid memoirs, notice boards, communications etc.
  • Oversight of all formal commercial contracts (customers, suppliers, partners) with responsibility for maintaining and distributing latest versions.
  • Liaise with and support Operations Director and Key Account Manager with customer contract negotiations (including but not limited to AWE, NHSBS, UHS, NHS Morecambe Bay Trust etc.) ensuring a uniformed business approach is maintained.
  • Tender and bid response lead
    • coordinate the completion of bid/tenders/RFI/RFQs and
    • work with key stakeholders within the business to produce high quality bid and tender responses for submission within timeframe.
  • Administer CTS presence on procurement platforms including daily monitoring & escalation for prequalification of tender opportunities

Quality Systems Management

  • Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements:
    • In conjunction with function heads/subject matter experts, maintain the Company’s procedures, standards and specifications.
    • Working with function heads/subject matter experts, ensure quality standards are defined and monitor performance against these standards/measures
    • Lead ISO management meetings and ensure that Company meets its Quality and Compliance objectives.
    • Conduct a schedule of regular internal audits to ensure compliance with process/procedure/legislation and other regulatory frameworks.
    • Manage CTS’ process with external auditors and corrective action arising from such audits.
    • Manage Incident Reporting process and coordinate process/procedure changes and analysis of Corrective and Preventative Actions.
    • Manage framework of sub-contractor and supplier analysis ensuring compliance with CTS quality standards is consistent from external suppliers.
  • Manage the production, control, review and approval of all internal company documentation in line with ISO and all other regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Company’s certifications and licences are recorded and maintained

General

  • Adhere to all CTS health and safety policies/procedures and assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
  • Adhere to all CTS security policies, procedures and protocols
  • Adhere to all CTS quality policies and procedures
  • At all times actively support the Company values, aims, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Undertake any other duties as may be required by Senior Management commensurate with the responsibilities of the job or the requirements of the business
  • General office admin; own filing, franking post, purchase orders etc.

Person Specification:

Essential Qualifications

  • LRQA Quality Systems Manager
  • Internal QMS auditor

Desirable Qualifications

  • Likely to be educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Project Management trained/certified

Essential Skills/Knowledge

  • Experienced in quality assurance and held previous direct responsibility for the performance of a Quality Management System
  • High standard of written and verbal communication with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively.  Proven track record of structuring and producing high level corporate documents such as reports, quality manual documentation, communications materials etc.
  • Senior Director/Board level support experience
  • Previous experience of taking the lead in the coordination & production of high quality bid/tender responses
  • Excellent time management and high level administrative capability
  • Proficient MS-Office user (especially Excel, Word, PPT).
  • Project management experience

Security Van Drivers

c. £25-26k pa
Silchester, Nr. Reading and surrounding area

We have immediate vacancies for LGV C+E security drivers to expand our crew in the Reading area. We’re looking for adaptable and flexible individuals who like variety, for regular driving work. You will be transporting specialist cargoes including dangerous goods and other high consequence goods and work will be varied, taking you to unusual destinations around the UK and into Europe.

Driving for CTS is about delivering excellent customer satisfaction and you will need to be an individual with integrity, who takes pride in their work, shows meticulous attention to detail and has a positive ‘can do’ attitude.  You must be well presented with good geographical knowledge. Experience with high security/high value, multi-drop, double manned and international driving would be an advantage and holding an ADR qualification is beneficial although not essential as training will be provided for the right candidates.

Requirements:

  • Professional driver with commercial driving experience, 3.5T licence with a maximum of 3 points and no current DD/DR/TT points or offences
  • Full ADR (packages) desirable, although training will be provided
  • Basic IT/computer skills, experience of using PDAs or WMS

  • Strong customer service ethos
  • Fork Lift experience & qualification advantageous but not essential

Hours:

Hours will vary daily and from week to week and you should expect early starts, late finishes and nights out.  You will be required to be part of a weekend rota for occasional weekend work.  Overtime rates apply at weekends and bank holidays.

Hours:

CTS is a provider of specialist logistics that has been in operation for over 20 years.  We’re looking for adaptable and flexible individuals who like variety, for regular driving assignments.

You will be transporting specialist cargoes including dangerous goods and other high consequence goods and work will be varied, taking you to unusual destinations throughout the UK and into Europe.

As a casual worker, your working hours will vary dependant on the work available and your availability to undertake it.  Assignments may include weekdays, overnight stays, weekends, early starts, late finishes, sometimes at short notice although at other times we will be able to offer work with in advance of 2 weeks’ notice.

Logistics Operatives

£23.5k rising to £25k pa
Silchester, Nr. Reading and surrounding area

We have exciting opportunities to join our growing team in a highly varied role. You will need to be extremely adaptable and willing to undertake work across our entire operation including warehousing, transporting high consequence dangerous goods by road either single manned or as part of a double manned team and providing logistics services including office moves on a local client’s site. Initially you will be trained in our warehouse and scanning centre operation whilst security vetting checks are completed. Once the necessary clearances are in place, you will be cross trained on the other parts of the operation. You must be willing to work across multiple sites all within the local vicinity.

Daily Tasks include: 

  • Goods in/goods out – managing deliveries to unit, receiving goods in, checking freight against booking in criteria, picking and packing, preparing manifests and sorting freight.
  • Checking and signing paperwork, PODs etc., scan barcode, logging deliveries manually and on WMS
  • Loading/unloading vehicles using fork truck

Security vetting is a requirement for all roles at CTS and any offers of employment are made subject to obtaining and maintaining the necessary security clearance. Applicants will be required to satisfy certain eligibility criteria including nationality rules and 10 years’ UK residency.

Hours:

The core warehouse operational hours are 0500 to 1900hrs. On our client’s site, the shift hours will be 0745-1700hrs. We are looking for applicants with flexibility to adjust their hours in line with changing business needs, to provide resilience across varying shifts & to be available for overtime which may include weekends (on a 1 in 4 rota).
